About Capital University of Economics and Business
Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) was founded in 1956 as a key university of the Beijing, when the former Beijing College of Economics and the Beijing Institute of Finance and Trade merged in June 1995. For over fifty years, CUEB has continued its mission of strong education, following the philosophy of “Advocate Morality, Value Competence and Strategize the Nation’s Development to Serve its People” as not only its responsibility, but also as its guide to develop moral and productive citizens, Along with the guidance and efforts of the faculty and staff, CUEB is now a comprehensive university with a focus on economics and management, and a wide selection of disciplinary and interdisciplinary programs, covering 6 disciplines in Economics, Management, Law, Literature, Science and Engineering.
CUEB has two campuses. The main campus is located in Fengtai Park, within Zhongguancun High-tech Zone, Huangxiang, Fengtai District that mainly houses and teaches full time undergraduate and graduate students. The other campus, Hongmiao Campus, is located in the Central Business District (CBD), in Hongmiao, Chaoyang District that hosts international students and focuses on international education and continuing education. The two campuses occupy a total area of 580 Chinese mu (39 acres), with a construction area of 300,000 square meters. The library holds 1.66 million books, and over 2,600 Chinese and foreign periodicals.
CUEB enrollment is 21,553 students, of which 360 are in the associate degree program, 9,741 in the undergraduate program, 2,422 in the graduate program, 239 in the doctorate program, 398 international students enrolled in various programs and 8,371 students in continuing education. Undergraduate admission scores are ranked among the highest in Beijing, with the proportion of graduate student admissions and those studying abroad, increasing yearly. Graduates of CUEB are highly recognized by the community and the workforce, with the graduating student employment rate at 95% and above for the last five years.
